HBCMHBCM: 4 Commitments on the Road to Fulfilling Ministry. We are asking all of our members to live these commitments, to “be” HBCM. We believe we can change the world when we are intentionally Here for corporate Worship, being Biblically discipled, Connected in Community and living life on Mission! I have  been teaching and elaborating on each of these. In case you missed it, or want to listen again, go here…

Here for corporate worship… (Hebrews 10:25; Acts 2:42-47) …Consistently participating in corporate worship centered around Jesus Christ and His Word. It is important that we meet together and worship the Lord together corporately each week. Will you prayerfully commit to making our weekly worship celebration a priority for you and your family?
How can I get involved? This is primarily by consistently being here for Highland Sunday morning corporate worship. We will also have Quarterly worship on Sunday nights (Planned worship events, prayer events, outreach events or other special corporate emphasis times).

Biblically discipled… (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; 2 Timothy 2:2) How are you learning and growing as a follower of Christ? Who is teaching you and who are you helping to train? Are you ready to “Pass it on?” Will the Word stop with you or spread through you? Are you part of one or more of our weekly “B Groups?”
How can I get involved? Get going in a Sunday School class; Help out in AWANA Club for Children; Join a Wednesday night discipleship group (plus other days / times). We are encouraging everyone to complete: 1) Highland 101 (new members); 2) MasterLife / Disciples’ Cross (6 weeks). We urge everyone to be part of an ongoing B Group and continue growing together in our walk with Christ.

Connected in Community… (Acts 2:42-47; 20:20; Luke 5:27-32) The early church knew what it meant to experience the “one anothers” of the New Testament in every day life together. Are you connected and experiencing community with your Highland faith family?
How can I get involved? We have Community Groups forming this month that will meet in homes around our city. These groups are for fellowship, meals and fun as we experience “community” and as we reach our community, inviting friends and neighbors to join us. Although this will not be the only time, Sunday nights will be the ideal time to gather with your “C Group.” You can join a C group or start one in your home (along with one or two other Highland couples). Then start inviting friends and neighbors!

Missional… (Luke 10:27; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Matthew 5:16) Being on mission isn’t just about Africa or South America or China. Our dream is to see people serving in every aspect of the day-to-day ministry of the church and living life on mission each day. We’re challenging one another to be purposeful in establishing relationships with friends, family and co-workers with the goal of sharing the gospel and being good inviters to Christ, to your B Group, C Group and to worship.
How can I get involved? Highland members will be challenged to be actively missional in our everyday lives, intentional in participation in C Groups, community service projects, mission trips and mission partnerships, and everyone will be challenged to serve in at least one ongoing ministry of the church.
